Here you’ll find no inopportune activities, no loud and chlorinated swimming pool but birds singing in the trees and the ocean right down the path.
Peace, nature, family, friends, friendliness, zen attitude: such are the key words and the values of your 4* campsite.
To live in harmony with Nature and respect is essential for us. The Camping Les Baleines is thus Ecolabel certified since 2013 and member of the 1% for the planet organization since 2018.

AN EXCEPTIONAL LOCATION
The campsite is ideally located: away from the hustle-and-bustle, with its feet in the sand of a little wild beach (with breathtaking sunsets!), a stone’s throw from the Phare des Baleines, of the splendid white sand beach of la Conche and the centre of the picturesque village of Saint-Clément. It enjoys a lovely view on the Phare (the lighthouse) and a large coast path offers a nice ocean walk to the village 1 km away.
For those who want total freedom, the naturist beach of Couny awaits you, it’s a 15 min bicycle ride.
Thanks to the 110 kms of cycling paths of the island, you will be able to criss-cross the island from coast to coast and discover the nine other villages. Ars, Les Portes, Loix, Saint-Martin, La Couarde, La Flotte, Le Bois- Plage, Sainte-Marie, Rivedoux: to each village its mood and its special features!
La Rochelle, jewel of the Charente-Maritime is less than 40 minutes away and day escapades to the islands of Aix and Oléron are easy to organized.
In 2000, Camping Les Baleines entered the classification of classified sites. It is recognized as a remarkable natural site whose character calls in the name of the general interest the conservation in the state and preservation of any serious impairment.

LEISURE TO RELAX
Enjoy the beach: Good news, your campsite has a direct access to the ocean. Sea air guaranteed! This little wild beach offers you all the possible landscapes, in any season: breakers or a sea flat as a lake, warm white sands or a beach covered with pebbles and kelp… Change of scenery guaranteed!
On the île de Ré, at the Camping Les Baleines: you can also chill out.
Have fun with your family or friends: volley-ball court, pétanque court, ping-pong table are at your disposal, you can freely borrow the equipment as well as a playground and there is a mini-club for children.
Nautical sports, golf, horse-riding, tennis etc. are also awaiting you near the campsite.

OUR RENTALS
Are you more of a mobile-home, lodge tent or cabin kind of person? Choose the accommodation that best suits you! We provide you with:
- 17 cosy and well-thought mobile-homes, from 1 to 3 bedrooms, up to 6 persons depending of the models,
- 4 safari chic lodge tents, in canvas and wood, with tasteful decoration for a guaranteed change of scenery (each tent can accommodate up to 7 persons),
- 3 cabins in pine and oak, welcoming, eco designed and made locally just on the other side of the bridge to have adventurous dreams. They can each accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children. Our campsite is accissible to people of reduce mobility.

Come and set your tent or caravan or your camper van on one of our 161 pitches, a stone’s throw from the ocean.
At the Camping Les Baleines, there are no monotonous lined up pitches but spacious areas (100m2 on average), semi-shaded and sunlit, spread over sur les 4,6 ha of land. The soil is grassy and sandy perfect for tent pegs!
And our flora (atriplex hedges, arundo donax, tamarix, evergreen oak, cupresso lamberts et morus bombycis) enhances the beauty of the site… and gives your pitch some intimacy!

A preserved and natural island Connected to the mainland
The île de Ré, a.k.a Ré la Blanche (Ré the white) the name refers to the typical whiteness of its houses, is a safe place for all to spend a holiday.
For nature lovers:
Ré offers wild and protected landscape, of a stunning beauty. Ocean, salt marshes, forests, dunes, famous beaches and secret beaches: there are so many walks and rides to do, it is impossible to get bored! And the flowers give a new face to each season: sometimes yellow with flowers of field mustard, sometimes red with poppies. Ré fascinates and inspires. Birdwatcher? Little Egret, shelducks, huppes, curlews, seagulls: birds love the island and they can be observed all year long.
For gourmets of all ages:
what if tonight you were the one to bring dinner? Oysters, cockles, clams, razor shells are all within your reach. Also pick up some mustard or Alexanders seeds to season a sauce and don’t forget the salt. For dessert, depending on the season, let Ré regale you with blackberries, figs, sloes… Are you more the restaurant and farniente kind? There are good tables, and some seafood cabins along the coast for fresh sea food and fish.
For the sporty ones:
Ré offers a range of activities that will no doubt suit your fancy! Cycling of course, but also surfing, wind surfing, kitesurfing, stand up paddle surfing, sea or swimming pool swimming, sportive course and wide-open spaces to run!
For history enthusiasts:
Vauban, the lighthouses, the abbaye des Châteliers, the numerous guided tours proposed by the Communauté de Communes, the Tourist offices and different associations: for certain, there is a lot to learn! And to supplement your knowledge, the towns of La Rochelle, Rochefort, Brouage … are easily and quickly accessible.
